DR. DHIREN PATEL

Dr. Dhiren Patel is well known for creating highly structured programs tailored to the needs of his patients. As one of our four primary treatment providers, Dr. Patel enjoys working together with his clients’ referring mental health professionals to create a pathway to recovery.

Performing research on new and existing drugs for addiction and mental health is another area of interest with Dr. Patel. Over the years, his work in this arena has expanded remarkably both in treatment approaches and the use of cutting edge medications.

The first doctor in Dallas to offer the noninvasive, non-systemic TMS therapy for MDD once FDA approved.

In his spare time, Dr. Patel serves on voluntary advisory boards for several large insurance companies to help improve access and care for clients. He also works with several pharmaceutical companies as both an advisor and speaker.

JOHN O’DEA

John draws upon his years of experience as a therapist and program director to ensure the quality of our clinical services. He manages our budgets and personnel, ensuring that our program maintains current licensure standards along with the administrative support it needs to provide exceptional levels of treatment.

He has over 10 yrs experience as a therapist since graduating from Texas Tech University in 1995 with a masters degree in counseling. He has been licensed by the state of Texas as a professional counselor since 1998. Prior to embarking on the journey that is Solace Counseling, John worked at Homeward Bound, Inc first as a senior counselor and then as a program manager and program director. Previously, John was employed by South Plains College in Levelland, Texas as counselor responsible for students in Technical programs.

In his time away from Solace, John enjoys travel, spending time with friends, playing piano and home improvement projects. He is also a fan of the Dallas Stars.

ALICE HUDSON MSN, PMHNP-BC

Alice Hudson is a Board Certified Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing.  She has been in practice since 2011 treating children, adolescents, and adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  Prior to her work in psychiatry,  Alice has 9 years of experience as a neonatal intensive care nurse, working closely with parents and families under distress.

DR. CHAD COLLOM DNP

Dr. Collom is a Board-Certified Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP). He has been in practice since 2004, treating adults for psychiatric disorders such as Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, and Schizophrenia.

Dr. Collom, specializes in the needs of the LGBT community. Dr. Collom has also served as Associate Clinical Professor in the Graduate Nursing Program at The University of Texas, Arlington.

TONYA PUTMAN MSN,APRN, FNP-BC

Tonya Putman is a board-certified nurse practitioner in the state of Texas.  She brings over 20 years of healthcare experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.   She is passionate about helping individuals on their journey to mental health/well-being and addiction. She treats adults dealing with depression, anxiety, ADD, PTSD, Bipolar, and schizophrenia. She is trained in Suboxone Induction Therapy or Medication Assisted Therapy for those suffering from addiction.

Prior to joining Solace Counseling, Tonya worked as a hospitalist with various healthcare organizations. Her professional affiliations include ASAM, AANP and APNA. In her spare time, she volunteers for local community outreach organizations. She enjoys mentoring, traveling and participating in medical mission trips.

Jennifer Autry MSN, PMHNP-BC

Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University in 1993 and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2011. She is board certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center as a Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Jennifer has over 18 years of experience as a registered nurse in neurosurgery, orthopedics, critical care and psychiatry. Her psychiatric experience includes inpatient, outpatient and emergency services. Jennifer’s clinical experience includes working with adolescent s, adults and older adults with attention deficit disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders and chemical dependency. She has experience as a Nurse Practitioner in both private practice and governmental entities, including working with Homeless in Tarrant County and at a Maximum Security Forensic State Hospital. Her hobbies include quilting, sewing and knitting. She is an avid reader and enjoys spending time with her family.

BRITTON BAHADOR PMHNP-BC

Britton Bahador has over 10 years of both volunteer and professional work in the field of mental health and addiction. Mrs. Bahador has a passion for helping those in need of psychiatric and addiction services and as a result began her career in the field of social work where she spent a majority of her time both working in and managing intake departments as an LMSW. Mrs. Bahador’s passion for advocating for those clients seeking services enabled her to become a Hospital Director of Admissions where she continued to work, while going back to school for nursing. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Nursing and is now a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Her ultimate goal is to be able to competently provide a full variety of services to those seeking mental health services. She serves all age groups from children to older patients (including families) and has the ability to provide psychotherapy as well as medication management. She believes treatment outcomes are more likely to be successful when provider and client collaborate and agree on the individual treatment plan. Outside of work, Mrs. Bahador enjoys spending time with her son, family and friends, and traveling.

JOHN FREEMAN LPC

John Freeman LPC is Licensed as a Professional Counselor by the State of Texas, and has worked in a variety of settings with different populations providing effective, compassionate and directive counseling. Making use of the therapeutic relationship itself as a vehicle for honesty and exploration, John states that his goal for individuals under his care is “to integrate different aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based-stress reduction and the 12-step ‘design for living’ to promote change and long-term recovery from mental illness and addictions”.

VICKIE WHITE LPC

Vickie White LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor whose goal is to empower clients with the ability to live their future with confidence. She blends cognitive behavior therapy and mindfulness to strengthen clients as they work through overwhelming life experiences that are controlling their emotions, thoughts, and feelings. Vickie is also an EMDR certified therapist and treats patients who have experienced trauma in their lives. She has experience working with patients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and bipolar disorders. Vickie enjoys working with adults from diverse populations to help them discover the strength they need to move forward in life.

 

 JULIE PATRICK – Certified NeuroStar TMS Coordinator & Treatment Specialist

Julie is our TMS Coordinator and Treatment Specialist for our Plano office. She has over 7 years of experience treating patients with NeuroStar TMS Therapy and has over 20 years of medical office management and customer service experience. She has received training at NeuroStar University (NSU) and received her Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management from the University of North Texas in 2010. As someone who has experienced depression, anxiety, and PTSD, and successfully worked through trauma therapy, Julie deeply connects with TMS patients through empathy and understanding as they work together to help bring healing. She has created a comfortable and relaxing office for TMS patients, and she makes a point of letting patients know that their treatment time is their “Me Time” to just shut the world out and be present for themselves for those 20-30 minutes. She enjoys working with each and every TMS patient and considers herself their cheerleader as they progress in treatment and therapy. 

As TMS Coordinator, Julie acts as liaison between patients, providers, and insurance companies to coordinate TMS consultations, evaluations with our Medical Director, insurance authorizations, patient treatment plans, and patient scheduling while also providing daily TMS treatments. She also networks with other health care professionals in the DFW area to help build a solid referral base for the Plano location. Julie is also the office manager for our Plano location and is happy to help current and former TMS patients with scheduling appointments with their providers, medication refill requests, and resolving billing issues. 

Outside of the office, Julie is also an acrylic and watercolor artist and enjoys hiking, camping, and traveling with her family. 

Madina Zaheer – Certified NeuroStar TMS Coordinator & Treatment Specialist

Madina is the TMS Coordinator and Treatment Specialist for our Dallas office. She has over 5 years of experience treating patients with NeuroStar TMS Therapy, has completed training at NeuroStar University (NSU), and she was the first coordinator in the DFW area to effectively treat Obsessive Compulsive Disorder with TMS therapy. She thrives in helping individuals regain their lives, free of Major Depression and OCD symptoms, and especially enjoys the working relationships developed with each patient as they progress through their healing journey. She has created a comforting and calm space that many patients have appreciated during their daily treatments, and she is especially attentive to patients’ TMS scheduling needs (flexible hours), physician communication needs (refills, scheduling appointments), and office environment needs (blankets, music, lighting, etc.) to make their experiences with TMS therapy an even more positive experience.
