Dr. Dhiren Patel is well known for creating highly structured programs tailored to the needs of his patients. As one of our four primary treatment providers, Dr. Patel enjoys working together with his clients’ referring mental health professionals to create a pathway to recovery.

Performing research on new and existing drugs for addiction and mental health is another area of interest with Dr. Patel. Over the years, his work in this arena has expanded remarkably both in treatment approaches and the use of cutting edge medications.

The first doctor in Dallas to offer the noninvasive, non-systemic TMS therapy for MDD once FDA approved.

In his spare time, Dr. Patel serves on voluntary advisory boards for several large insurance companies to help improve access and care for clients. He also works with several pharmaceutical companies as both an advisor and speaker.


John draws upon his years of experience as a therapist and program director to ensure the quality of our clinical services. He manages our budgets and personnel, ensuring that our program maintains current licensure standards along with the administrative support it needs to provide exceptional levels of treatment.

He has over 10 yrs experience as a therapist since graduating from Texas Tech University in 1995 with a masters degree in counseling. He has been licensed by the state of Texas as a professional counselor since 1998. Prior to embarking on the journey that is Solace Counseling, John worked at Homeward Bound, Inc first as a senior counselor and then as a program manager and program director. Previously, John was employed by South Plains College in Levelland, Texas as counselor responsible for students in Technical programs.

In his time away from Solace, John enjoys travel, spending time with friends, playing piano and home improvement projects. He is also a fan of the Dallas Stars.


Alice Hudson is a Board Certified Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing.  She has been in practice since 2011 treating children, adolescents, and adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  Prior to her work in psychiatry,  Alice has 9 years of experience as a neonatal intensive care nurse, working closely with parents and families under distress.


Dr. Collom is a Board-Certified Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP). He has been in practice since 2004, treating adults for psychiatric disorders such as Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, and Schizophrenia.

Dr. Collom, specializes in the needs of the LGBT community. Dr. Collom has also served as Associate Clinical Professor in the Graduate Nursing Program at The University of Texas, Arlington.


Tonya Putman is a board-certified nurse practitioner in the state of Texas.  She brings over 20 years of healthcare experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.   She is passionate about helping individuals on their journey to mental health/well-being and addiction. She treats adults dealing with depression, anxiety, ADD, PTSD, Bipolar, and schizophrenia. She is trained in Suboxone Induction Therapy or Medication Assisted Therapy for those suffering from addiction.

Prior to joining Solace Counseling, Tonya worked as a hospitalist with various healthcare organizations. Her professional affiliations include ASAM, AANP and APNA. In her spare time, she volunteers for local community outreach organizations. She enjoys mentoring, traveling and participating in medical mission trips.


John Freeman LPC is Licensed as a Professional Counselor by the State of Texas, and has worked in a variety of settings with different populations providing effective, compassionate and directive counseling. Making use of the therapeutic relationship itself as a vehicle for honesty and exploration, John states that his goal for individuals under his care is “to integrate different aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based-stress reduction and the 12-step ‘design for living’ to promote change and long-term recovery from mental illness and addictions”.


Sara Black is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Board Approved LPC Supervisor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Certified Trauma Professional, and EMDRIA-Trained EMDR Therapist. She received a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Texas, and completed her training in addiction counseling at the Institute of Chemical Dependency Studies. Sara specializes in treating mood disorders linked to trauma, and addiction.

CARLA WEATHERFORD Certified NeuroStar TMS Coordinator-Dallas

Carla received her Associates Degree in Marketing/PR from the University of Phoenix in 2005. She was certified as a Health Information Specialist by CCI in Dallas in 2012.  Carla completed her training and Certification for NeuroStar TMS therapy in 2013, and most recently became a certified trainer in Dynamic Mindfulness.  Carla brings with her 30 years of customer service experience and 5 years working in the Mental Health field.

As NeuroStar TMS Coordinator for our Dallas office, Carla handles all aspects of TMS therapy: Patient consultations, insurance verification, and authorizations. She also acts as the liaison between patients, providers and insurance companies; and is responsible for administering daily TMS treatments. She also networks with other health care professionals in the Dallas and surrounding areas to help build a solid referral base for the Dallas location.

JULIE HOLLOWAY Certified NeuroStar TMS Coordinator-Plano

Julie graduated from the University of North Texas in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Administration and Planning. She has over 4 years of experience providing TMS treatments along with 20 years in medical office management and patient customer service.

Julie is responsible for administering daily TMS treatments; She also acts as liaison between patients, providers and insurance companies. Julie manages patient schedules, verifies insurance benefits and obtains TMS authorizations. She also networks with other health care professionals in the Plano and North Dallas area to help build a solid referral base for the Plano location.

Callie Sewell LPC-Intern

Callie Sewell draws upon Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, DBT practices and CBT training to address a wide variety of client concerns from major depression to addiction and personality disorders. She holds a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Amberton University, and she received specialized DBT training from Behavioral Tech Institute.  Her clinical experience ranges from inpatient hospitalization to outpatient care.  Callie is supervised by Sara Black LPC-S, LCDC.
