Intensive Outpatient Program for PNESGet The Answers You Have Been Searching For
Solace Counseling is pleased to announce that we will be starting an Intensive Outpatient Program for patients who have been diagnosed with PNES or Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures. Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures, or PNES, can be a confusing diagnosis to receive. What is it? What causes it? Where do I go to get help?
Solace Counseling offers Intensive Outpatient Therapy for patients who have been diagnosed with PNES. We provide education about the causes and symptoms of PNES, and we can help you find relief. Our six-week program takes a trauma-focused clinical approach, combining group and individual counseling to address the issues underlying the development of PNES. You will also learn personal coping strategies that focus on solving current problems and changing unhelpful patterns in thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and behaviors, as well as emotional regulation.
Our PNES treatment program utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, and Expressive Therapy techniques to create a comprehensive group counseling experience. In addition, you will have weekly sessions with a therapist trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).EMDR therapy uses bilateral stimulation (right/left eye movement or tapping) which repeatedly activates the opposite sides of the brain, helping to release emotional experiences that are “trapped” in the nervous system. This assists the neurophysiological system, the basis of the mind/body connection, to free itself of blockages and reconnect itself.
