Although not everyone needs medication for there depression, in many cases, it just requires some changes in daily routine to aid in improving your mood. Here are some things to do for depression:
1. Sleep – There are many things that affect your chemical balance and therefore your mental state. A lack of sleep can leave your mind tired, making you irritable and exhausted, which can often translate as depression. Consistent sleep times help. Get into a routine.
2. Nutrition – A balanced diet of food keeps you energized and prevents chemical imbalance in the body and mind. Eating too much junk food can leave the body malnourished, but full, often leading to depression-like symptoms.
3. Exercise – Exercise releases endorphins into the body, creating a natural treatment of depression. A good run every day, after a good night’s sleep, can really increase your mind’s positive perceptions.
There is a difference between feeling sad and depressed. If you are feeling depressed on a regular basis, it would be best to be evaluated by a counselor or psychiatrist (MD). If you have been suffering from depression and medication treatments and psychotherapy have not been working, then TMS may be right for you.
